    Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of school dropout in rural Morocco by assessing the contribution of the Tayssir program to reducing school dropout and identifying the main factors contributing to its persistence. The study adopted a quantitative approach, using questionnaires as the primary data collection tool. Two questionnaires were administered to different samples: parents or guardians of students and school teachers, with the aim of exploring their perceptions of the causes of school dropout and the effectiveness of the program in addressing this issue. The findings reveal that poverty and social vulnerability are the main factors contributing to school dropout, particularly due to the limited financial resources of families and the low educational level of parents, which negatively affects their ability to support and monitor their children’s schooling. The study also shows that the Tayssir program has helped reduce the financial burden on families and has encouraged school attendance to some extent. However, its impact remains limited in the face of persistent social and economic challenges.
