    الملخص

Higher education institutions encounter serious pressure to complex challenges globally. Such difficulties include inequality, rapid technological transformations, and sustainability crises, and rapid technological change. Yet, fragmented disciplinary structures continue to regulate integrating knowledge needed to reinforce and support sustainable development. This study aims to examine the role of integrating knowledge in advancing sustainable development in higher education across transformative learning systems. This study synthesizes peer reviewed studies from higher education, interdisciplinary learning, UNESCO frameworks, sustainable literature, and SDGs research through using a critical integrative review methodology. The thematic synthesis identified several themes. These are: knowledge integration as a base for transformative learning, institutional transformation, interdisciplinary collaboration, pedagogical innovation, and sustainable development outcomes. The review concludes by suggesting a conceptual framework based on the synthesis, which illustrates how integrated knowledge systems can connect certain aspects like learning processes, institutional change, and sustainability goals. The findings demonstrate that knowledge integration functions as a fundamental mechanism to transformative learning by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, pedagogical innovation, institutional transformation, and the achievement of sustainable development outcomes. The findings  present implications for higher education leaders, curriculum designers, and policy makers across asserting the need for systemic reform and collaborative learning structures. This study is limited by its conceptual reliance on secondary sources and its nature. Future research should test and refine the suggested framework across different kinds of higher education contexts. The recent study concludes that achieving sustainable development transformation needs higher education institutions to move beyond fragmented knowledge structures toward integrated as well as transformative learning systems.
